The Payette Riverwalk Alliance continues working hard to make sure the property is
clean, insured, and safe for community enjoyment.

| PROJECT | DETAILS | PROGRESS UPDATE |
|---|---|---|
| Mosquito Abatement | Treat ponds with non-chemical granule insecticide that only targets mosquito larvae. | Spring 2026 |
| Wildlife Enhancement | Additional riparian and upland plants will be added to the disturbed areas on the PRA property in 2026 using PRA staff and volunteers (Images 1, 2, and 3 below depict ongoing wildlife enhancement efforts and resulting benefits). | Spring 2026 |
| Noxious Weed Eradication | We are making great progress on reducing weeds on the PRA property. Native vegetation is regrowing in areas that used to be dense knapweed (Image 4 below shows native fireweed in bloom). | Annually |
| Wetland Restoration | The PRA is actively looking into grants and opportunities to improve the ponds on the river property. Our goal is to enhance the ponds to attract more wildlife and reduce mosquitos in 2026. | 2026 |
| Firewise Actions | The PRA would like to once again thank Julie and Kathy for their Firewise efforts in 2025. The PRA will pursue Firewise grants in 2026 and will be looking for volunteers this fall. | Annually |
